Hope this video comes out. I'm not a fan of a lot of the Kydex out there. It is too flimsy. Safariland make the only Kydex holster I've seen that is solid. Their Kydex is much thicker and lined. They have postive retention systems don't rely on friction fit. Same applies to knife sheaths for me. SOG's first Kydex sheaths had a snap stud belt loop made from kydex. As soon as you sat down and the sheath caught on something the snaps unfastened. Unlined Kydex is also very noisy for something that is supposed to be tactical. CLICK, SNAP, not to mention the loud scratch sound when rubbed against twigs. But it molds well and looks cool. Then again look how much 'tactical' stuff has velcro. Now that is another silent product. Sneak up on the enemy in the dark and RRRRIIIIIPPPP!

Fixed video for you.

Interesting video. IT looks like a Fobus Holster that he broke. This is what I use. They are not kydex but some type of plastic. I have had good luck with mine and like it alot but I do not like what I just saw in the video.

Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for fixing the video. If you like the open top style the Safriland 0703-283 (G19 you have?)is excellent. I had issued the older model 0703-83. The older model had and probably the newer one has adjustable rake on the belt slide. They are lined with a suede like fabric and friction fit is screw adjusted. Retention is also by way of an internal mechanical trigger guard lock. The belt slide also lining on both sides. The surface facing the belt is the suede like stuff. The outside which rubs on the pants has a tacky vynl like substance. These stay put and don't slide around. I'd check to see if the new model is the same. The safariland blurb says they have a 'new' belt slide. So it probably is better. On a side note. You need to wear a strong belt that wont flex when drawing the weapon. Otherwise the retention system may stop you getting your weapon.

The other safariland is the model 6287 with the SLS system which is a rotating hood in place of a thumb snap. It's a concealment version of police duty and military tactical holsters. They are a modular unit and the belt slide can be replaced with a paddle or drop leg shield. They also have different external finishes. I also was issued this type with both a basket weave finish and a flat grainy kydex.

I have a lot of reservations about stuff that gets marketed for martial usage. Most of it is aimed at casual users. These rigs I have no hesitation in recommending. They are proven performers. They do take a little getting used to in presenting the weapon. But once you get it down pat they are fast and reliable.

Cool ! Thanks for the info. I have been looking at a Safariland tactical holster for my FN five Seven pistol. They are one of the few people that make one for it and one of the only ones who make a left handed model also.
