As the title implies. I would like to see this knife being tested.
It shouldn't be too hard to get your hands on one of these.
The AUS8 version might be a little hard to get but the 10cr17 versions are very cheap these days. For the price I think this should be really interesting to see.

| I had a look for these on the net. It appears the AUS8 versions were older ones that were made in Japan. Those that I found available are Chinese made from 10cr17. They retail around the $20 mark. Black Jack Knives has been taken over by Blue Ridge Knives. Knife Forums have a section dedicated to Black Jack. Owners of them speak highly of them. They certainly have some good looking classical designs. |

The new Chinese version is superior to the aus8 version.
Maybe side by side testing could be done.
The quick model would also be a good one to consider.

Yea... I had it for a couple of weeks, tested it, and lost it. Go figure...
I really like the grunt. The handles were really comfortable and it chopped reasonable well for a blade of it size. The knife was a really well convexed and I was able to mirror it up with a strop. It was freaky sharp when I got it, I made is freakier. The edge retention was also pretty darn good. I whittle a hell load of dry wood and at the end of they day it could still pop hairs and cutting paper as it came. It's definitely a bargain.

The gloves are BlackHawk Fury Gloves w/Kevlar http://www.lapolicegear.com/blhefuwgl.html For the field tests I wear nomex flight gloves.

| Noss. How do the Blackhawk gloves perform as far as deexterity wise. My last issue glove was a Hatch leather sprctra lined glove. (same as kevlar though they reckon better blah blah). They are good gloves as far as slash protection. But...Not warm and lack 'feel'. The Blackhawks look soft in the fingers and more 'feely'. What do you think? |

Their nice gloves. They have good dexterity and fit well. They are not as comfortable as the Nomex flight gloves. They are not going to be very warm compared to an insulated glove. So far they have held up well during all the knife tests. For an outdoor glove I prefer the Nomex flight gloves. I wear them continuously when I'm camping and hicking. They are very tough and are great around the campfire. I don't want to go camping without them. They are this good.
