In the last few years of it's life Imperial Schrade came out with this nifty little outdoor tool. There was another version which replaced the magnetic compass with an electronic one. (like that was a good idea....NOT) The Schrade 'Navitool' is equiped with a knife blade, scissors, saw, bottle opener, can opener, phillips and slot screwdriver, cork screw, illuminated compass with declination adjustment, mirror, SOLAS certified whistle, belt clip, lanyard attachment, Red LED light and a nifty compartment that holds a full size BIC lighter. Around the compass I have a heap of nylon thread taped over with cloth tape and store some sewing needles with the BIC. It was a great idea that died with the venerable company. I don't think the new owners that make POS in China have revamped the idea.

Where is the TV remote placed?

| Ah the reomte is built in. When the Tv is on, if you want to turn it off you throw very hard at the screen. It is only a basic remote function. But less noisy than Elvis' solution to poor programming. |

Back to the subject...
I'd suggest you remove the lighter and place a firesteel and other goodies(fishing hooks/line, watertablet/asprine etc) in the same space.

In a survival situation you can remove the coating of the balde and polish it with sand... Voilą, you got yourself a mirror. As long as you are on land there will be ways to find out the directions. But the price...

Not a bad idea Man of Iron. The space will hold one of those small survival tubes like you find in 'Rambo' type hollow handle knives. But it sure would make it hard to light my cigarettes This one of mine lives in an M16 mag pouch with other stuff which attaches to a fixed blade. I find this tool to be more of a SAK with a compass attached. I'd rather not have it as a stand alone unit. But then again in an emergency............. |

Once a good looking babe asked me for light at a bus stop. I set a piece of tissue on fire for her within seconds... helluva pick up trick
