well, idk if I told you this, but I never did get that dfcg, I wasn't quick enough. I'd love that. I was going to get the DCDM, but my mom didn't have money at that time and I gave her my b day cash. (to repay her for the 150$ for the DFCG that she used her credit card on)
so now she set it aside... so pretty much I have 150$ set aside (that'll be all the money I get for a while) for a big chopper. and it has to be even better then my DFLE.
so hopefully a DFCG. :D
sorry for that little rant. |

You should save that up for a CGFBM or a FFFBM.
I used my FFFBM today and chopped a hell load of wood. It was amazing and very quick with the FBM.
It's really quick. It is heavy, but whatever, I can handle it on prolong chopping chores.

I know, but still, a DFCG is a must. :D and a cgfbm or ffbm (although I WOULD LOVE ONE!) would take me a few years to get the money for one, because I really on only get money on my birthday. I hope to get a job soon, but by then I might have alot of other stuff to pay for.
*sigh* I wish... I've never seen any busse's or busse kin in realy life except for my yardkeeper and DFLE. :( I know, it's sad. |

Wow Sharp! You have some nice knives! Im envious, when I go out in the woods i usually have a trailmaster, a Gerber LMF2 and a cheap gerber folder.
Eatingmuchface: try selling candy at children's sporting events like baseball or soccer games. I've gone out there for half an hour and made 50 dollars. You'll have that busse paid for in no time. Im saving up for one too!

Thanks Gman1128 and welcome to the forums.
I also carry a Gerber LMF2. It's great knife with a very strong tip. My friend and I have done lots of tip prying with it. It's a great user knife. The glass breaker is very fun to use. I also have a Gerber Freeman Exchange-A. Fun little knife and very sharp. I really want one of the Cabela Special Freeman's in S30V. Speaking of Gerbers, I've lost a couple, too. I lost a full size FAST Draw and a mini Fast Draw. Both were great knives. I really like the FAST action. I really miss them because they were gifts from a friend.

Yeah the LMF2 is a great knife. Ive done some prying with it and the thick tip is great. Also it has one of the coolest sheaths I've seen. I have the normal freeman with the wooden handles and made of 440a. It hasn't seen much use since Ive gotten the LMF2.
How do you like that CSK? It looks awesome. |

| Hi Gman welcome. I'm a newbie too. I love the LMF. I got both of mine off Ebay NIB. Would you believe that here in Australia they are selling retail from 180 to 300 bucks! That's like 160 to 270US. Thos sheaths they have are marvelous and well thought out. My green one has single piece webbing and my brown one has two piece webbing. The brown one you can take off the lower part of the webbing. I don't know which is the newer design. |

It 'looks' awesome. I think BM did an ok job on the CSK. Their BOLT system just isn't good for survival knives. I've batoned and chopped with it and the whole handle system becomes really loose. Also D2 for a survival knife wasn't such a good idea.
However, I do like the handles, it's really comfortable. The blade design is also really functional. 'Course it's Benchmade sharp!!
BM is coming out with the CSK II. It's 100 bucks on the their website. Made of 1095 (finally BM saw the need to not use stainless for heavy use knives) and has an overmolded santoprene handle (similar to the LMF II).
Honestly, if your looking for a knife like the CSK, go check out Scrap Yard Knives. Best bang for the buck knives, period. Noss did a crazy test with their Scrapper 6 (or S6).
While I'm at it, I feel like posting some more pics.

Me throwing the RTAK

Nice pics again Sharp! That FBM has certainly seen some use! Ive looked at scrap yard knives and really want the dogfather, but for a smaller survival knife the yard guard and yard hook look like they would be great.
Tac45: I can't believe the LMF is that expensive in Australia! I buy just about all my knives on ebay (including my LMF). You can get much better deal then buying direct. My LMF is green with 2 piece webbing. I didn't know it was made any other way. |

Thanks you guys,
There's also the LMFII in black. This is the only picture that I have of it. This was the first time I went up with a friend up to his house in the Columbia Gorge.

Glad you guys enjoy the knife throwing pic. I also threw my FBM

And I've done some pretty heavy chopping with it too.

This was some tough cedar wood, by the way. Very hard to go through.

Very good collection you have there. I have a hatchet that looks just like that. Your tops tanto looks cool too. How long did it take you to get that far through the huge log?
You're lucky to live near an area like that and have a friend who is into that kind of stuff. None of my friends really like the outdoors and I live in california and would have to drive an hour into the mountains to see forest like that. I consider myself lucky if I can get out in the woods once a month. |

Gman: I scored my 2 LMF's off Ebay from a seller in the states. Prices in Australia are pretty high because there is not a huge demand. Our population is only 20 million.
Very sweet collection Sharp. Would be nice to have a forest like that nearby. Sydney has suffered from urban sprawl. Sure you can drive an hour to find some bush. Unfortunately State Forests and National Parks have all kinds of regulations these days. Chopping up wood isn't taken too kindly too. Would you believe some areas they recommend you bring your own wood if you intend to cook on an open fire!!!!!!!!!! The world has gone mad. |
