(Böker's own) 440C, which they also use on their sub-higher eind blades(MRSP $60-$130), kinda like what Buck does to their 420HC, but look at the design!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I garantee you will be amazed about how well crafted every Böker LE is (same price as regular stuff of the same range), details worked out nicely, and MICARTA HANDLE!!! Whole tang is visible lik Busse, same thickness as the spine all the way, 6mm!!!

MSRP is $99 is the states, so I think you could probably get it for about $80 or even less, good luck on finding one!!! 1999 piecces in total.

Certainly not, like I mentioned before, Böker's collection items are always of better quality than regular items from the same prices (the Crusader and the 2007 are both listed €100/$100, big difference!!!) Regarding the quality, I think the 2008 is roughly in the same class as a BM Blue, if not higher.
I was gathering information on a Magnum Damascus Katana, MSRP is €300/$300. That for a full tang proper folded damascus!!! Degree of finish is def. higher than CS. And CLB replied :D:D:D

I would like to test a good 440c steel. The S&W knife didn't do to bad. It was a cheap knife with quality.

Question: how does 440C stand against AUS 8/10? I know they're almost identital, but what is the real difference in the field? Corrosion resistance, edge retention, brittleness etc?

Yeah dingy, you are correct about the heat treatment. But how well the steel sorts are heat treated generally depends a lot on their property, like S30V is generally of lesser quality than VG-10 because its more difficult heat treatment.

I honestly don't know how they would compare I don't have enough experience with either steel. What I have read is Aus 8 is closer to 440b then 440c in it's make up. Trying to read the all the data on the net is just confusion and I can not draw any conclusions from it.
