RUNE PETERSON I think I might take my chances on the BM mini Rukus instead of the mini SERE 2000. Simular sizes (same as my mini Com), better steel (S30V!!! vs VG-10, both hard steel mostly suited for folders/small fixed blade, somehow sentimentally I prefer the S30V), moreover, I've always wanted to own an Axis. Just ordered the Crusader, expecting the CLB blades within next week along with a BM blue toolbox. The only problem left to be worked out is the €€€, like you mentioned...

I lube my blades with ballistol, what do you guys out there think of that? Expensive stuff, maybe someone can recommand a cheaper alternative?

The BM mini Rukus is surely a sweet thing....on the early axis locks BM had some issues with play in the release-bolt interfering with the pivot and blade...I think operators had to press down and pull....the latest intel is that BM has delt with this problem.

Cheaper lubes: WD 40 if applyed often....sewing machine oil (Singer)

Try Break Free that stuff is fantastic. and it doesn't cost much and a few drops goes a long way.

Break free is essentially a combination of dirt-solvent and light low viscousity oil intended for cleaning and lubeing weapons
so any silicone free weapons oil will work fine....the sewing machine oil is even thinner and thus less tacky....

IMHO for firearms, Ballistol is the top notch, just way too expensive comparing to other alternatives. Price-quality ratio is always low in the top quality products in general, comparing to mediocore priced good stuff.

Thanks for the tip.

Talking Starting a CLB collection...
Just picked up a SubCom, a Trance and a MPT today. I'm mostly satisfied, nonetheless, there're tiny issues which realy trouble me:

The coating on them wears off way too easily, although not as fast as those on their CRKT counterparts. Just after three slices on a flyer the coating started to come off, a tiny bit.

Moreover, the sheath made for the MPT isn't what could be qualified as ideal: it's too damn tight when you shove the entire blade in it, and if you try to pull it out with only one hand, you have to be very strong, or, dispointed. Perhaps that's because it's new, hopefully it will become easier to handel with after some use. I doubt seriously.

Despite these mentioned minor flaws, I'm planning to expand my Böker Plus CLB collection in BLACK, with the M-type, the Hyper, the ResCom, and the forthcoming Direkt.

Chad, keep up the good work; and Böker, thanks for helping my wallet to loose weight. (Don't work too hard though, otherwise I won't have enough resources to purchase all of them) ^^

PS: why doesn't SubClaw come in BLACK??? (I know the niche just isn't big enough...)

Just some random BS:

When I walked to the armdealer to pick them up, I saw lots of journalists next to the Courthouse. Then I joked with the sellsman later in the shop that Joran van der Sloot (remember Natalee? :p) was being escorted to court, and he's actually living (not anymore after the confest in the car) in my neighbourhood. The sellsman said that's why I need so MANY(???) knives. I replied in case of need, I can borrow them to Joran.

The Spydie Sharpmaker is for size comparation.

From top to bottom:

CRKT (CRAP ) TRIUMPH NECK
BÖKER PLUS CLB MPT
BÖKER PLUS CLB TRANCE
BÖKER PLUS CLB SUBCOM

BÖKER MAGNUM 2007 COLLECTION
BÖKER MAGNUM CRUSADER (€55!!!!!!!!!!!)
COLT (UNITED CUTLERY) POLICE POSITIVE (bargain €15)

Don't complain about the quality , taken with my mobile. Quick setup with a poncho on the garden table.

PS. RUNE PETERSEN, the Crusader was realy a (one time) great deal, my dealer tried to get 4, but he only got 2, now it's regular price again (€80) It doesn't have a sawback like the profile suggests, but double edges/sharpened false edge. The paid less attention to details like they did on the 2007, great blade nonetheless.
