i've always been a big fan of the kershaw leek (it's been my edc for almost a year), but it's a bit small for my tastes. so, when i saw the shallot, i was really excited. similar design, and the size is perfect for me. here's a quick video of both, so you can compare the sizes.

Thanks for the video. Good job. You can open them both fast. Both are Nice looking folders. I like the all stainless steel construction.

What kind of blade steel is the shallot made of

Thats a very good steel. The Gerber LMF did well using this steel in the destruction test. It took very little edge damage.
