I LOVE KIMBER 1911's, well I don't know much about guns, but I hear they shoot like a dream. can someone tell me something about desert eagles? who makes them? how do they shoot? and what caliber? I know they're big heavy pistols, and thats all.
they are very comparable with fit , design and finish to cz usa handguns . they shoot pretty good but as for carry , theyre like a brick. as for carry and shootability ? hk usp 45 compact for me personally . ive had it for years and its been a concealed carry peice when i did process work and now as a regular duty gun . im stuck with slim pickins too cause i shoot lefty also.
I love the USP. Before the laws changed here in Australia I had a USP Tactical in .45. That's where the Tac45 handle comes from. I'm very partial to the .45 round. I also had a couple of 1911's in .45. Although my work gun was a Glock 22 .40cal. I'm also a huge fan of Glocks having owned a 17 9mm and a 27 .40.
But the laws changed in Australia. No double stacks over 10 rounds. Nothing over .38/9mm unless you get a special permit and regularily compete in silhouete or western action. (not too many 1911's or Hk's in that area!) No barrel under 4inches. Blah blah.
The Halo sights are awesome they are very quick and accurate. Also you can keep both eyes open during shooting and just follow the mark on your target. Fantastic weapon sighting technology.
A Dull knife is always better than a broken knife.
Shooting handguns is fun stuff. I carry the Glock 23 as my concealed carry weapon and woods gun. I'm going to start carrying my FN Five Seven as my woods gun as soon as I get a holster for it. It is so damn lightweight even fully loaded with 20 rounds.

Oh My!!! I bet the FN is one loud little mother. That sure is one 21st century set up Noss. Funny how old ideas come new again. Fast bottle necks in auto's popped up at the turn of the 20th century. Big blades were the choice for outdoors and military usage. Maybe the folks from long ago new what they were doing. I read somewhere a while back that during the Korean War a lot of US guys were not happy with the .45 as the round being slow and having a lot of tip surface area wouldn't penetrate the thick winter gear worn by the enemy. 9mm being faster and pointier did. I figure that must say something for the fast pointy bullets.
Tac45: H&K is working on a small but fast round also. Armor piercing was the design factor behind the weapon. I can't get the tactical armor piercing round that was developed for it. There is a lot of debate about it's stopping power especially since civilians can not get this ammo. It is a lot of fun to shoot.
I usually shoot pistols with both eyes open as well.

i CAN shoot with one eye but switching targets is easier and you usualy dont have to aim too much that is the main problem with people is they over aim and psych themselves out
