one thing I've learned by learning survival skills from many people is that all of them like different blades some people like swift cutters like swedish mora's others like sharpened prybars and big choppers some like stainless, others hate it I could go on forever don't listen to any of them, try some stuff out and what feels right in your hand is good for you

Of course the needs differ but I think a real survival knife should be able to do all and to withstand all. The others are only “normal” knives.
But I know: No knife will cope all tasks. so you have to need different tools (machete, small pry bar, SAK...)

The prybar is 10 inches long. Probably you wouldn't need it in the field due to the strength of the Glock but in a case of emergency in urban areas it's essential. You will also need a pair of pliers to repair your equipment.
Speaking of the victorinox one-hand trailmaster/ Bundeswehrmesser I don’t like the serrated part of the blade very much because it’s harder to curve wood with it. |

alot of people just take the serrations off, I've even seen people that have been made there oht into a recurve blade I heard that victorinox is coming out with a plain edged version also

I live in Norway and discovered Raidops just the other day. Their Honor is NICE, so I wonder what the retail is in the US?
Survivinox: bulky knives from laminated 316 steel should be very impact ressistant.

My Favorite (own):
RMD FBM "Nimmie" Rukus Microtech SOCOM Elite S90V (I love the cutting ability of this steel!!) LMFII (great beater knife)
My favorite (want):
SFNO DFCG Rat Daddy AK-47
Maybe a BATAC and SJTAC, but I think their oddly designed. The SJTAC would still be a good buy but I want the SFNO more.
